News that have to do with Hayden's crusade...
Here're some news related to Hayden's crusade for saving the whales. There're ordered by published date except for the first one since it's from one of what she did in Japan, that I consider is very brave and important and that points a very significant day for her and her decission to save the whales. Maybe I'm wrong, only Hayden knows (so if you're reading this, you could tell us if it's true, hehe). But anyway, if she don't read it, I think for me it would be. So yep, here it goes as first news. The other ones are truly important for the campaign too so here are them all.
Heroes Star Hayden Panettiere In Japan Dolphin Cull Clash February 27, 2008
The 18-year-old actress, who stars inTV blockbuster Heroes, paddled out on a surfboard in an attempt to reach a pod of dolphins to stop them being driven into a nearby cove and killed.
But the six surfers, from Australia and the United States, were intercepted by a fishing boat before they could reach the dolphins.
The fishermen used the boat's propellers to block their way and at one point struck out with a boathook.
It was an ugly and potentially life-threatening confrontation that lasted more than 10 minutes before the surfers were forced to return to the beach.
It is believed that the dolphins were later taken into the cove and killed.
Panettiere, who is a keen surfer and a committed marine conservationist and supporter of the campaign to save the Japan dolphins, said: "It was really frightening.
"Some of us were hit by the boathook. But in the end all we really worried about was the dolphins.
"It was so incredibly sad. We were so close to them and they were sky hopping, jumping out of the water to see us."
Breaking down in tears, she added: "One little baby dolphin stuck his head out and kinda looked at me and the thought that it's no longer with us is really hard to take."
The surfers drove straight to Osaka airport and left the country to avoid arrest by the Japanese national police.
All would have been charged with trespass, but Panettiere is now back in Los Angeles.
More than 22,000 dolphins are slaughtered by fishermen in Japan every year. The hunt continues despite worldwide condemnation.
In Taijie, more than 2,000 mammals are slaughtered in the season.
Many Japanese believe dolphins should be treated like fish. They have been hunting dolphins for centuries and see any criticism of this as an attack on their culture.

At least one celeb came out yesterday to see the Kennedy/Obama lovefest at American University. Potential first-time voter and budding activist Hayden Panettiere stopped by the event. She was already in the neighborhood for a Save the Whales Campaign. Check out the video of Hayden trying to get some face-time with Barack.

The young actress is continuing to fight for a cause in which she believes strongly. Over the weekend, the Heroes star led the rally against the resumption of commercial whaling in Washington, D.C.'s Dupont Circle Sunday.
The 18-year-old was greeted with applause as she gave her speech in front of supporters that included her mother/manager, Lesley Panettiere.

Hayden Panettiere at DC news con for "Save the Whales" October 26, 2008
Today at 1 p.m., Hayden Panettiere had a press conference with senator Nick Rahall for “Save the Whales Again” campaign. She will urge the US Government to reinstate its former leadership role protecting whales from commercial slaughter.
Looks like she impressed her audience again, judging from Senator Rahall’s positive response (i.e., smiling face!). Rahall is the Natural Resources Committee Chair, so this is right up his alley. Now if we could only get a copy of her speech or the video…
Tonight, Hayden will be joined by Members of Congress and their staff for an evening reception.
Save the Dolphin: Hayden Panettiere in Violent Protest November 2, 2008
She may not be indestructible like her kick-ass TV persona, but Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere is trying to save the world in her own way, and we commend her for it.
The 18-year-old actress was involved in a confrontation with Japanese fishermen this week as she tried to disrupt a dolphin slaughter that takes place annually.
Along with five other marine activists, Hayden paddled out on a surfboard to reach a pod of dolphins to stop them from being driven into a nearby cove and killed.
But the six surfers, from Australia and the United States, were intercepted by a fishing boat before they could reach the dolphins.
The fishermen used the boat’s propellers to block their way and at one point struck out at Hayden Panettiere and company with a boathook.
It was an ugly, potentially life-threatening confrontation that lasted more than 10 minutes before the surfers were forced to return to the beach.
It is believed that the dolphins were later taken into the cove and killed.
A keen surfer and committed marine conservationist who is a supporter of the campaign to save Japan’s dolphins, Hayden Panettiere said:

Breaking down in tears, the Heroes starlet added: “One little baby dolphin stuck his head out of the water and kinda looked at me and the thought that it’s no longer with us is really hard to take.”
Following the incident, the surfers drove straight to Osaka airport and left the country to avoid arrest by the Japanese national police.
