As we reported earlier this week, the International Whaling Commission has granted us another year to obtain the rest of the signatures needed on our anti-whaling petition with actress Hayden Panettiere.
For six months, we've been working tirelessly with Hayden and The Whaleman Foundation to collect one million signatures, and so far, we've obtained 165,000, which is an amazing accomplishment! But we still have a ways to go before we can reach a million. Check out this new video message Hayden made for all of you about the extension and what else we can do to reach our goal.
The lives of thousands upon thousands of dolphins and whales are at stake, please share Hayden's petition with your friends and family so we can get one step closer to abolishing this cruel and unnecessary practice.

Hayden's Whaleman Foundation Petition Update

Roughly 6 months ago, Hayden Panettiere and The Whaleman Foundation teamed up with SocialVibe to collect one million signatures on an exclusive petition to stop commercial whaling across the world. The petition has gained the attention of many, most notably the International Whaling Commission. After the organization, who is responsible for many international whaling laws, saw that we had obtained over 162,000 signatures, they agreed to grant our petition an extension - giving us another year to make it the rest of the way to a million. One year to obtain just over 800,000 signatures - we can so do this!
Be on the lookout for some announcements from Hayden soon, including another video and more action surrounding the petition in the coming weeks.

Twilight, Miley Cyrus, High School Musical 3, the JoBros and Gossip Girl lead the way with the most nominations. Hayden Panettiere has been nominated for two awards: "Choice TV Actress: Action Adventure" for Heroes and "Choice Celebrity Activist".
